This morning, after a slight delay, Apiculture Gatineau received their hives and nucs for the start of the organizations many planned projects. More than 20 nucs were delivered with all the necessary equipment to get the hives up and running quickly. Members helped out to get the structures assembled in time for the celebration of International Bee Day tomorrow. Originally the City of Gatineau objected to have bees within city limits. This has now been changed, the result of hard work and determination from many of the Apiculture Gatineau committee members. Congratulations and a big thank you from us at C deV !
The hives of Apiculture Gatineau are located at The Ferme Moore. This farm is now dedicated to urban agriculture and already we can see new potatoes and seedlings sprouting just in front of the palettes awaiting the hive delivery.
